On May 3rd, Friends of Bowker Creek Society volunteers hosted a display table at Camas Day 2026 in Uplands Park – an annual spring celebration with food, live music, native plant walks, prizes, kids activities and incredible informational displays from community partners working to protect the local ecosystems.

FoBCS volunteers displayed the Bowker Creek Watershed model, which shows strategies for managing rainwater and reducing water pollution. Renewed connections were made with the public, Oak Bay staff, kindred environmental groups and media. There were an estimated 750 visitors at the event.

Many thanks to Margaret Lidkea and the volunteer crew of the Friends of Uplands Park for organizing Camas Day 2026.
