About The Friends of Bowker Creek Society

The Friends of Bowker Creek Society envisions a healthy Bowker Creek watershed that connects people to nature, where fish, wildlife, biodiversity and communities thrive.

The Friends of Bowker Creek Society had early roots in 1996 with a group of citizens who valued the creek and watershed as a natural asset. They became involved as stakeholders in regional watershed management plans at the formation of the Bowker Creek Initiative – an inter-municipal effort to integrate watershed-wide planning, and the Bowker Creek Blueprint – a 100-year action plan to restore the Bowker Creek watershed.

The Friends of Bowker Creek Society was reincorporated in May 2018 to support the goals of the Bowker Creek Blueprint. The society purposes were later expanded to become a Canadian Registered Charity (number: 75703 4681 RR0001) in May 2024.

Friends of Bowker Creek members continue to be involved as community stakeholders of the Bowker Creek Initiative and the updating of the Bowker Creek Blueprint.

Volunteers throughout the watershed are making significant community efforts to restore the watershed and realize the goals of the Bowker Creek Blueprint.
